After significantly downsizing our grain and sheep farming operation in 2012 I had more time to pursue a lifetime interest in specifically woodwork, but also with other materials like leather and metals.

Woodworking restarted on our front veranda before moving to a neighbour's vacant double garage. While there I acquired most of my powered machinery before moving into a much larger shed walking distance from home.

I use a lot of recycled wood as well as wood from logs that I have had milled or cut into slabs. I am however a sucker for pretty pieces of wood that I see at woodworking shows or timber yards.

In most of my designs I like to let the natural beauty of the wood do the talking and try not to distract from that, by keeping it simple. I would also hope that the quality of the things I make will ensure they have a long life, fulfilling the purpose they were made for.
